ABS ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND AND CAPACITY
ABS is an agribusiness services provider using a sustainable, market-driven strategy to increase farmer incomes. Created in December 2012, ABS is registered as a limited liability company, at the Burundi department of revenue OBR with a certification tax Identity number: NIF 4000151490.
Mission
Its mission is to provide technical assistance to different actors involved in coffee value chain project development and capacity building, in productivity, quality and marketing, with a perspective of catalyzing sustainable long term private sector economic growth in Burundi.
Objective
ABS’s goal is to assist producers, traders and agri product exporters to comply with good agriculture practices in order to access local, regional and international markets. Its technical assistance is focused on empowering farmers with options that productivity and quality become a negotiating power and price improve and remain positively competitive.
Approach
ABS approach is focused on capacity building for producers and their respective organizations in different main areas:

Approach

Since 1987, Tharcisse be trained in coffee processing and coffee quality control in France and visits Coffee Traders and Roasters in Europe. He also took part of many international Coffee Conferences and Exhibitions in Africa (African Fine Coffees-AFCA) and in USA (Speciality Coffee of America – SCA).
